2. Choose between option one and option two:
   1. Option one asks for your renewal notice ID number or driver’s license ID number and allows you to renew multiple vehicles listed under your name.
   2. Option two asks for your license plate number and only allows you to renew that specific vehicle.

   How to Renew Your Car Registration by Mail

   Applicants may submit a motor vehicle registration renewal application by mail within the expiration month or within 10 months after the expiration date. Follow the below steps to renew by mail.

   1. Complete and sign the vehicle registration renewal notice, if available.
   2. Complete and sign the renewal form if you do not have a renewal notice.
   3. Include a check or money order for the renewal fee.
   4. Send the above items to the address listed on the envelope included in the renewal notice.

   Where to Renew Car Registration Stickers in Person

   Residents may submit a car registration renewal in person at a local DMV branch, participating town clerk’s office or kiosk. Self-service kiosks are only offered at the Montpelier office, Bennington office, Newport office, Rutland office, Springfield office and South Burlington office. In-person renewals may be submitted up to 60 days prior to the expiration date. Follow the below steps to renew in person.

   How to Renew Your Car Registration by Phone

   The state of Vermont allows eligible residents to renew over the phone by calling 866 259-5368. Provide your Vermont driver’s license number and pay the renewal fee with a valid credit card. New registration stickers are sent within 10 business days.
